Mari
Marinell, or as I call her Mariposa, is the love of my life. She brings beauty and joy to my world like a butterfly with its vibrant colors and graceful movements. One of her greatest passions is food, and she loves to explore new flavors and cuisines whenever we travel. There is one thing she simply cannot do without – a beach holiday in summer. Waking up next to her is a daily reminder of how lucky I am, and I admire her ambition and drive to make a difference in the world and she cares deeply about women empowerment. A perfect Sunday for her is to sleep long and then drink un cappucino con corázon. When it comes to music, Shakira is her ultimate favorite. I am grateful to have Marinell by my side, and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for us.
Flo
Florian – aka “the crazy cyclist” and “competitive Florian – was born and raised in Hannover, Germany but he is Venezuelan by heart. Flo is a huge foodie and always knows the best and hidden spots to eat when we travel. And at home? He’s the chef that cooks with “sazón, amor y corazón” while listening to Natalia Lafourcade’s songs. Flo also loves reading about everything but mostly Krimis (he’s a total Krimi junkie!). His perfect Feierabend is to go cycling around Augsburg and come back home to have dinner together. What I love the most about Flo is his patience, kindness and optimism. I’m grateful to have such an adventurous, food-loving, fun and loving partner in my life.

Our Love Story
We're not gonna lie, it's tough to squeeze six years into just three paragraphs. But here is our best to give you the highlights.
14/11/2016
We Met
It all started in the most typical “modern” way possible: we met on Tinder. But the plot twist? Flo was in Germany and Mari in Venezuela. Despite the distance, we just couldn’t help but chat and video call each other for six months straight. And finally, we decided to meet in Aruba to celebrate Mari’s birthday in November 2016. Nothing like the Caribbean sea to start our adventure, right?

She moved to Germany
Fast forward a bit, and Mari moved to Marburg, Germany to pursue her Master’s degree. Flo was living in Munich so we were still apart, but at least now we were in the same country. Only a “quick” five-hour train ride (depending on Deutsche Bahn mood) separated us, which was way better than a 12-hour flight, right? We made it work and then in 2019 we found our first home in Augsburg.

He Proposed
The best part of our love story? Flo got down in one knee in Lisbon, the one city that holds an extra special place in our hearts. What’s the big deal with Lisbon you might ask? Well… coming from two different cities and countries, we somehow see Lisbon as “our city” and always come back to it whenever we can. That’s why we would love to also marry here surrounded by all our loved ones.

FAQs
What happens if I confirm but can't attend?
We understand that last minute inconveniences and emergencies can happen, and we want you to know that it’s totally okay if you can’t attend after confirming. Just give us a heads up as soon as you can, so we can make any necessary adjustments.
What happens if attend but didn't confirm?
Of course that we will be happy to have you there celebrating such an important moment with us but it’s super important for us to know how many people are coming, so we can make sure there’s enough food and drinks for everyone. Please let us know if you’ll be joining us by confirming your attendance here.
Where are you staying? I want to be close to you.
That’s great! While we are busy planning the wedding, we haven’t decided on our accommodation. Once we have something to share, we will 🙂
I'm just flying in and out for the wedding, which area do you recommend?
Principe Real is a great neighbourhood with good access to the airport and to the venue. It also has a lot of restaurants and a great viewpoint.
My budget is a little bit tight, what can you recommend?
Baixa, the historic area rebuilt after the earthquake in 1755 is known for its affordable hotels. It’s also very central, so perfect for exploring the city.
